    Chain adjuster support bolt?

Can anyone explain the purpose of the "chain adjuster support bolts" on my 1100EZ?

The one time I adjusted the chain, I didn't loosen them. Haynes ignores them (in the chain adjustment procedure), while the official Suzuki neglects to advise to loosen the brake torque arm nut.

I'm inclined to favor the official Suzuki manual, but how could they forget to mention loosening the brake torque arm nut?

Just remember, an opinion without 3.14 is just an onion!
