Nice setup Charlie.
I thought I was going to be able to hoist the canoe so it was over the car, and mount it quick-like to hit the road, but I measured the garage when I got home: I'm short 3" clearance to get the canoe out of the garage, strapped to the car rack...which also means it won't hang under the door with the door open. I guess it is going to have to go width-wise between the back workbench and the door-opener.'83 GS650G

This is my little garage shop. It's a 2 1/2 car garage attached to my house. I have a shed out back for my lawnmower and garden tools. The car sits outside(I don't have a car worthy of taking garage space). I have a basement for part storage. It's a cozy little motorcycle shop.My Motorcycles:
22 Kawasaki Z900 RS (Candy Tone Blue)
22 BMW K1600GT (Probably been to a town near you)

81 1100e Street Bike (with race engine)

I'll pay you TWO TIMES scrap price for those!
That's double what the scrapyard will pay!

I had a friend who had a basement like that. He decided he didn't like having a pole in the middle of the room....... Between that and the three dishwasher claims they decided he didn't need insurance anymore either....Old age and treachery will beat youth and skill every time1983 GS 750

Well, I managed to get the new canoe home from Abbotsford. Got to 70 mph on the highway, and I have to say that I was impressed with the stability of the Yakima Keelover rack system.
This is what it looked like when I got the car in the garage:
and it's hard to tell, but I'm short about 3 inches to be able to hang the canoe OVER the car, so this is the solution. Note that I had to take down the two bicycles that were hanging from the rafters.
There is still plenty of free space, but I'll have to continue organizing so I am not constantly moving things around to access tools, etc.'83 GS650G

I've got my running bike and four other projects...I built a metal shed to hold the projects and the riding mower. I hated a bunch of stuff in my way. I started painting my garage floor a few years ago with that stuff that is supposed to last. It doesn't. Bike chemicals and road salt makes me repaint every year or it looks like hell. Wish I had never started.
