Suggestions? Should it be stiff? How stiff? I can't move it with both arms. Seems odd. There was a second piece of insulation attached to the cable sleeve with what looks like a heat-weld. I pulled it loose trying to get the cable to move, but the cable sleeve doesn't look crushed or crimped.

New choke cable beyond stiff... why?
I have a new choke cable that just arrived from Z1. I know I need to lube it, but when I tried to work the cable back and forth, I found it way beyond stiff. It's stuck pretty good, and the slide tension nut is not tightened at all.

Figured it out... with a pair of 90 degree hook needle-nose pliars. Got it back out.
The choke cable has a shaft at the top where the friction is adjustable - the shaft is round with a flat on one side. Turn it 1/4 turn, and it won't fit in. Turn it back and it will. I managed to cram it in the wrong way. Oops.Last edited by Guest; 06-01-2014, 05:48 AM.
