petrol tap/cock
hi all,when rebuilding a petrol tap/cock(gs750/1978) do i use sealant when reassembling,regards john.Tags: None

Between petcock and tank underside, there should be a nice oval o-ring to seal. Also special "sealing" washers under mounting bolts. Be aware that rebuilding petcocks is an iffy sport- the new stuff usually doesn't quite fit the 30+ old petcock casting.1981 gs650L

As it was just atested too, rebuilding a petcock is most time an act of futility. Try yours and see if it works, if not, time to order a new one. Just be prepared.sigpicMrBill Been a GSR member on and off since April 2002
