Engine Cover Emblems - which Glue to Use?

    All,

I'm just finishing up polishing the alternator cover and ignition cover on my '83 GS650GL restoration project. Bike is nearly done now.

I've got some brand new "Suzuki TDCC" emblems for them, and they have some sort of tape adhesive on the back. Does that stuff actually stick well enough to do the job, or do I need to use some other adhesive to keep them on?

If so, what kind of adhesive works best?

    Thanks!

If the glue on the new emblems has not been compromised then that's all you need - and they really do stick well.

Where did you find the emblems? Are they NOS or repros?

Suzuki still sell the emblems, so you can get them from any dealership source, only the current offerings don't match the originals in design in some instances. Depends on the specific application.

The emblems that you can get from Suzuki now for the '83 models do NOT match the original design. The original design was silver text on a black background. Suzuki is out of those and has superseded them with black text on silver background.

So, I found some new old stock emblems that are correct (silver on black) on eBay. Took a long time to find them.
