best plugs for 1980 gsxe 750

hi all, struggling to get bike fired up, very close on full choke, plugs look pretty rough so going to get a new set. have got ngkr dr8es in just now,is it a big difference getting iridium? very expensive! any advice appreciated, cheers, adam

Go with stock ngk plugs. Unobtanium or whatever fancy electrode plugs make no difference and thus not worth the money

Yup the stock NGKs work just fine. You might want to post a pic of your plugs so we can see what is going on with them. Reading how a plug is burning can speak volumes.

Stuff I've done to my bike:dancing: 1100E front end with new Sonic springs, 1100E swing arm conversion with new Progressive shocks installed, 530 sprockets/chain conversion, new SS brake lines, new brake pads. New SS fasteners through out. Rebuilt carbs, new EBC clutch springs and horn installed. New paint. Motor runs strong.

Thank you both..just went ahead n got regular ngk ones, these irridium ones need a mortgage for...the ones that came out cant photo just now,but were pretty black n sooty, definitely not overheating. The old plugs were DR8ES...the new ones I sae listed for my bike were DR8ES-1..dont know if that makes a difference?!
