1982 GS1100E touring handlebars

So I know this all depends on the size of the rider, personal preference, etc. but I'm wondering what is the consensus on a good touring handlebar for the gs1100EZ.

I bought this bike with drag bars on it and I'm trying to make it more comfortable for longer rides. I'd go with the original handlebar and go from there but I don't have them...

Try Daytona bars. They have decent rise and pullback. Don't use superbikes. Mine cause lower back pains if I'm not careful of riding position

Well, how tall are you? Sleeve length etc. Are you looking to use a windscreen?

I have 2 1983 - owned since new - GS 1100E's. I am 6' 1". Shirt sleeve length 34/35. Both bikes have stock bars. Stock everything, actually. Have never used a windscreen on em. For me, even with 68 yrs. on the earth, the posture is perfect for even 500 mile days.

I'm about 5'8" with normal arms (not sure sleeve length). I'd like the option of using a screen, but likely won't. Looking for something more like the stock bars but they aren't available. Maybe I'll check the wanted section.

I put a set of "euro touring" bars & 2"risers/spacers on my GK. They're lower & narrower than traditional touring bars & give me the feel that I wanted on the bike. They provide a nice profile for 70-75mph rides.

Unfortunately the manufacturers all measure their bars differently.

I got a set of Bikemaster GP Touring bars and found them to be a lot lower and a little narrower than I was expecting. I then ordered Emgo Daytona bars, but was sent Bikemaster Daytona bars instead - also low and a bit narrow.

Having paid for 2 sets of bars now that I am not thrilled about (even though they were cheap) I put off looking at bars again for a little while. If I were looking again, I'd look at something like the Emgo Classic or CB750 replicas.

I got an 80 Gs 850L and an 82 Gs 1100L, both std bars for that year, the 80 bars do get uncomfortable behind the shoulders even on shortish trips but i did a 632mile day trip, with no problems on the 82 bike. Never had any problem with these bars.

The "euro touring" bars are BikeMasters, the 2" spacers I got off of eBay.
