Yes, they'll just slide back on. They're a slightly tight fit, and if there's any corrosion they may be a little tighter, but it's a close slip fit, not a press fit.1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.

No they're not pressed on. Maybe a bit of corrosion keeping them on there. A few gentle taps with plastic mallet should loosen them up. If they're still stuck maybe some penetrating oil and let them sit a while.'84 GS750EF (Oct 2015 BOM) '79 GS1000N (June 2007 BOM) My Flickr site http://www.flickr.com/photos/soates50/

OK that is exactly what I wanted to know so take them off with a rubber mallet and the back on with one you think it will work

it will work, and if you clean the parts and don't get paint on the rotor or the hub it will go on nice and smooth, some very very fine sandpaper to clean any crap off and you will be good to go...

Should be sealed bearings. Just wipe the axle down and apply a thin film of fresh grease when you reinstall the wheel.MY BIKES..1977 GS 750 B, 1978 GS 1000 C (X2)
