        While you're strolling around, find a decent hardware store,and look for 2 bonded washers (rubber bonded to metal washer). The 1/4 inch size works fine- these go under petcock mounting bolts to keep gas from leaking. About 40 cents each, so avoid trying to use the old ones.

        Edit: on second thought , you might be looking for 3/16 inch size bonded washer. You want a 6mm bolt to fit snugly thru the metal. I don't remember the actual size that I got.
