    Mirrors

What do you guys do about old mirrors?

I have the stock 1982 units on my bike, and I'm not dissatisfied with the outward appearance (despite some scratches on the black back).

But the mirrors themselves are not as clear and immaculate as I would like. Should I just remove them and take them to a glazier?

I'm guessing NOS are available, but do the glass and reflective surface show the years?

The mirrors on my bike are 35 years old and the mirror surface looks fine. Does have a few scratches though nothing that is distracting enough to warrant replacing. Dennis Kirk has pretty good selection of mirrors if you are looking to replace yours.

Stuff I've done to my bike:dancing: 1100E front end with new Sonic springs, 1100E swing arm conversion with new Progressive shocks installed, 530 sprockets/chain conversion, new SS brake lines, new brake pads. New SS fasteners through out. Rebuilt carbs, new EBC clutch springs and horn installed. New paint. Motor runs strong.

Emgo carry some inexpensive mirrors and I think they have a style that look very similar to but NOT exactly as the Suzuki originals or at least they did about 5 years ago.

I think Napoleons are the best and I would only get a mirror with convex mirrors. You can find them sometimes on ebay. They come in both short and long stem.

There are now cheap mirror extensions also on ebay.
