How to clean intake and exhaust ports and valves?
We have an '82 GS750 motor that is on an engine stand and we are in the process of checking and cleaning things up. The exhaust valves have a lot of carbon built up on them, and the intake and exhaust ports are both generally filthy. Whats the best way to clean them up without completely disassembling the head? Obviously since the engine isn't running, a fuel additive isn't an option. Thoughts?Tags: None

Brake fluid seems to work for me in loosening off the carbon deposits. Might need soaking in the stuff overnight.Richard
