Maybe you could answer this question.
I've got a 1980 gs750 that I recently bought. My issue is that it runs, but after a few short minutes fuel pours through the valve cover breather into the air box. There is an aftermarket pet cock put on after the original. I've heard that if the original is bad, that could cause the problem (vacuum issue). I'm wondering if you guys can either confirm or throw out other ideas.

Just in case you do want to install a new petcock, Pingel makes one though it is expensive. When mine go bad, I just buy a new one, less heart ache. Rebuilding one is a waste of time and money. The big issue in replacing this petcock with anything else but a stock one is the clearance between the petcock and the air box. You'll notice there ain't alot of room right there.Last edited by mrbill5491; 02-01-2016, 05:14 PM.sigpicMrBill Been a GSR member on and off since April 2002

Plan is to buy oem from suzuki parts warehouse online. I'm hoping that's the actual problem, but I'm not 100%

Screenshot_2016-02-01-15-18-15.jpg the fuel is coming from the breather tube (11) it's blowing my mind. It runs like a top even while pouring fuel into the air box. I had one guy tell me he had a similar issue and that the pet cock was bad and fixed the problem. I just don't want to throw parts at it. I havn't had it on the road yet lol, going to get it out this spring.Last edited by Guest; 02-01-2016, 05:23 PM.

Can't be, there is no fuel what so ever that even gets near the breather tube. All it does is vent the crank case fumes (cheap pcv) back through the air box, nothing else.
Make sure the tube goes from the top of the valve cover to the air box. Something is way wrong here.Last edited by mrbill5491; 02-01-2016, 06:51 PM.sigpicMrBill Been a GSR member on and off since April 2002
