My question is, has anyone on here done such a swap? I'm not talking about the high US bars as fitted to the US (L?) models, more like the bars Z900s came with. Cables may need changing, but longer cables are available. But is there enough slack in the brake hose and the wiring to allow bars say 2 inches higher and total 2" wider to be used?

Fitting higher bars to GS1000?
The standard bars on my GS1000G (European model) are too low and narrow for my aching wrists. If I could swap them for bars a couple of inches higher and wider I'd have a much more comfortable time riding it.

I have SP 400 trail bike bars on mine which are about 5" rise total, you have to get a longer clutch cable, however the brake hose is long enough if you remove the guide bracket on the clock fixing bolt, best get the longer one when you upgrade to braided, switch wires are ok.sigpic
Don't say can't, as anything is possible with time and effort, but, if you don't have time things get tougher and require more effort.

If the Euo-bars are causing you to put pressure on your wrists you're probably sitting too far aft.
