Nice editing, although bet it took you longer to edit and upload the video than it did to do the gear oil change. Gear oil smells nasty doesn't it?

Oh, and you are missing your rear upper engine mount bolt in case you hadn't noticed. Cheers!

      One tip: rubber gloves.

A place like Harbor Freight that sells boxes of cheap Chinese crap for a low price. The same cheap Chinese gloves will likely cost about a pound per pair.

A funnel and catch pan for the old oil - very fancy. Just roll it over a sewer like we do here in Flint.

2016 XL883L sigpic Two-tone blue and white. Almost 42 hp! Status: destroyed, now owned by the insurance company. The hole in my memory starts an hour before the accident and ends 24 hours after.

I realise this probably seems exceptionally amateur in the eyes of most people here but these are my first steps.

I made a video so I can remind myself what to do for next time

We all had to start somewhere. You'll do fine as new things pop up lol.

Stuff I've done to my bike:dancing: 1100E front end with new Sonic springs, 1100E swing arm conversion with new Progressive shocks installed, 530 sprockets/chain conversion, new SS brake lines, new brake pads. New SS fasteners through out. Rebuilt carbs, new EBC clutch springs and horn installed. New paint. Motor runs strong.

What oil is or was in the sump ?

"A sump (American English and some parts of Canada: oil pan) is a low space that collects any often-undesirable liquids such as water or chemicals."

I am not sure what it was but I replaced it with 75w90 GL5

I'm not very good at making myself clear sometimes
I meant the engine sump where the motor oil goes.

About your inter-mitten spark on 2 cylinders. Unscrew the spark plug caps one at a time and cut about 1/4" off the end of the wire. Then screw the cap back on.

If you look in the cap when you remove it you will see a brass threaded post the screws into the end of the wire, check it with a flashlight and make sure that it is clean.

A little spit on the end of the wire when screwing the cap back on makes it a bit easier.

That is an easy process to do and can only improve the spark. If you do them one at a time you don't mix up the wires.
