I'm already looking for aftermarket gauges and a gps speedo (koso) since I'm swapping front ends with a GSXR. But my goal at the moment is just to get her up this season, so I'd prefer to fix this year and upgrade over winter if I can.

Tach plug or options?
I went to replace the seals on my leaky tach cable and the cable is seized in the fitting. Unless I can find a replacement, I'll be looking into a gauge with an electronic tach that wires into the ignition somehow which will require a plug. Are there any options out there, or will (wife lost/moved without telling me, my notebook of part numbers) the fitting be able to be found in a fiche somewhere?

The plug is Suzuki part #26442-45000 -- you'll also need the seal band, 26451-45000 . This was used on many Suzuki models that moved from mechanical to electronic tachs.
However, you could also replace the fitting and tach cable if that's what's damaged. These parts are all still available from Suzuki.

I already have the seal and o-ring, but need to order the drive gear and fitting parts. So does #26 in the fiche have the bracket that attaches to the head? It's hard to tell from the picture.

#26 is the fitting "sleeve", which has a little tab cast into it for the retaining screw.
Some models used a sleeve with a slot for a separate retaining tab.

I converted an '81 GS750E to an electronic tach. (From a 1983 GS750ES, I believe.) There is a thread on it but I can't be arsed to look it up. If you search for "electronic tach", it'll pop up.
You can take out your existing sleeve, put a new seal on it, and fill the inside the JB Weld. That's what I did anyway and it worked fine.
