I am trying to open up my gauges to re-install a screw , tachometer side, that has come loose and is rolling around in there. I could sure use some expertise here before I go and mess something up. Can someone point me in a direction please? Thank you!

Open Gauge set to tighten screw ??
Sorry if I am being obtuse but I used the search <<open gauge>> in search titles only and got two pages of results where not one of the titles had both open & gauge in them? I'm not understanding the search element on this site very well.

This GS gauge had a loose screw floating around inside. I pried the bezel off, reinstalled the screw, cleaned the glass and removed a spider, and recrimped the bezel back. Doesn't look pretty from the back side but you can't tell from the front.

+1. Not as hard as it may seem. I've done a dozen+ like that. It's the best way to get inside.http://img633.imageshack.us/img633/811/douMvs.jpg

Ok, roger that. Is there a special way to remove the trip odometer knob? I have not looked at it closely. TY

Ok, figured out the OD knob and got the gauge out and apart. Should you just loctite those screws in then? Should try and lubricate anything while in there?

I use 3m 3-in-one lubricant but sewing machine oil works well too. Just don't tell my wife.http://img633.imageshack.us/img633/811/douMvs.jpg
