    1000 Carb leak info

    In case your O-rings between you 1000 carbs are leaking, here are the measurements of 29mm smooth-bore tubes. If your tubes seem similar then the O-rings are available from Z1 Enterprises or at least your local supplier im sure.

    Fun with CAD!

    Looks thicker than necessary. What material? Brass would be a good choice since it's corrosion resistant without having to be plated and it's easier to cut than stainless.

      They are around 19 bucks from Z1 for the fuel tee and around 12 bucks for the transfer tubes..and they come with the orings. Ive ordred a few sets to replace the schitzy plastic crap ones.

        For the Canadian members check out SIRIUS CONSOLIDATED for fuel tees, transfer tubes, and bowls gaskets.............4 packs of bowl gaskets for 9 bucks. Heck, just 1 bowl gasket from a dealership is around 13 bucks!!!!

          There actually Alloy in Smooth-bores, and looks are deceiving. Specs are as close as i could measure. 5mm hole with 9.3mm cutout for O-rings, that leaves 2.15mm material at its thinnest point. Only 1inch long and just under 1/2 inch round .

            Sharpy...I get the bowl gaskets from them whenever im doing a set of VM carbs. even with shipping its like a buy 2 get 2 free deal as compared to buying from a dealership. Just gotta do youre homework and bookmark the best deals.

              Mikuni typically uses aluminum (Alloy?) but it's anodized. I would not recommend raw aluminum as cut on a lathe since it will corrode too fast.

              From what you say the dimensions should be fine. My bad.
