Threebond has two main different families of "XXX-Bond" materials: 1200 series which are "silicone-based" and 1100 series which they denote as "liquid gasket" materials.
1184 is the current liquid gasket stuff, ideally suited for between crankcase halves. That material would work okay on the half moons but in my opinion the 1200 series stuff would be better for that application. I've got some 1207B for that sort of stuff. Permatex Ultra RTV would work fine as well.Last edited by Nessism; 05-03-2017, 06:05 PM.Ed

I just realized I didn't buy the 1207B sealant so looking for alternatives. I think I'll go with the Permatex Ultra RTV Black that Ed mentioned since I can get in from Amazon in time for the weekend. Is this the right stuff? https://www.permatex.com/products/ga...asket-maker-4/. Seems like the 3oz tube would be plenty.Jordan

Brush-on gasket sealer works.
Not recommended because it makes things tough to get apart at a later date, but it works.
I have even used that stuff for make-shift gaskets on various engine covers several times. Just trim out the side of a cereal box to fit and brush it on. Lasts for years.Bertrand Russell: 'Men are born ignorant, not stupid. They are made stupid by education.'
