New (Old) Bike check list. What I do after purchasing a used bike.

Do your research before you purchase

    Post purchase

I do this check list with pretty much ever motorized vehicle i buy

1 Get repair manual, join vehicle specific forum
2 Change ALL fluids Taking notice of condition for id'ing anything that needs to be addressed
3 Go through all systems making note of anything that needs addressing (Check out each chapter in the repair manual/ brakes, suspension, lighting, ignition, ect...)
    4 Replace headlights
5 Fix items addressed in #3 starting with brakes!
6 Start on upgrades to bring vehicle up to modern standards

List gets tweaked for each vehicle . Like cars I replace wipers at the same time as headlights. On motorcycles I like to upgrade to s/s brake lines very early on. Also like to upgrade to the best tires I can afford asap.

Go here http://members.dslextreme.com/users/bikecliff/ and learn all you can about the bike. Assuming it's a GS of course.

Then go to the bottom of my sig and click on the Greetings link.

Darn, with so many daily riders it's hard to decide which one to jump on next.;)
