    Help my seat is rusty

I bought a stock gs1000 seat off eBay, the pan is real rusty and many of the spikes that hold the seat cover on are missing. Is ther a method to hold the seat cover down when they are missing? Velcro?
    Any ideas
    thanks

Deal with the rust as a primary concern. It's going to be tough but if the cover stretches round far enough (so you can get them in vertical where there is "meat" in the foam self tappers might work... (I might be inclined to take the point off them first before screwing in anyway)

http://pandkclassicbikes.co.uk/ go to home page and look for spike strip. I've used them, they are very sharp wear gloves.

My PO used short, 50mm, strips of aluminium 3x15mm and riveted them into the underside of the base to clamp the vinyl.
