Front Wheel Hardware
I have a GS1100ED. Could someone run thru the axle hardware on this bike for me and verify 2 washers or spacers that are located immediately inboard of the fork tubes. I don't mean the spacers that the axle holders clamp onto. Or the other large spacer on the right side that butts up against the wheel bearing. The service manual shows these other spacers although they are not numbered or identified and that diagram is for the 80-81 GS11 which has a different fork than the 83. I don't know if mine are missing or I'm doing something wrong. When I tighten the axle nut it puts pressure on the front wheel to the point that it won't rotate. I am also having a problem with headshake that may be part of this situation as well.
I appreciate any light you can shed on this.Tags: None

Aside from the ones that are clamped and the larger bit on those spacers are inboard, you should just have speedo drive housing and one straight spacer to fit. Your wheel bearings havent collapsed and you have inner spacer between the wheel bearings?

pics will help, of what you have going on. Most 78-83 1000 and 1100's use almost same hardware on front
