    Tank bolt sizing

Bringing back to life my 79 GS 750e.
One item missing since I bought it is the bolt to hold the tank on. Does anyone know what size/thread the bolt to hold the tank in place is at the seat?

It's M8x30. The OEM part number is 01500-08307. The 0830 part tells you the size. Most bolts include the size in the OEM part number in the same way.

You'll probably need the rubber cushions and spacer for a snug fit. See the diagram below. You can find the same diagram on your favorite OEM parts site.

M8x1.25, true words about the bushings and spacer also!
1978 Gs1085 compliments of Popy Yosh, Bandit 1200 wheels and front end, VM33 Smoothbores, Yosh exhaust, braced frame, ported polished head

I would rather trust my bike to a technician that reads the service manual than some backyardigan that THINKS HE KNOWS how to fix things.

I have the bushings and spacer. They where stuck to the tank.
Should note, it is M8 x 1.25. Checked it after I posted the original question. Is the same size as the bolt that holds the rear turn signal brackets, only shorter.
        Thank you for the help.
