    Carb Synch Tool between #2 & #3

I have this tool but when I try to use it between #2 & #3, the throttle / choke cable bracket is in the way. Does anyone have a work around for this? Thinking of welding a metal rod onto an 8mm socket so I can come in from the side; but would prefer not to.

    Thanks!

That bracket is held to the top of the carbs with two screws right? On my 850, I just remove the bracket, putting the screws back, and let the thing hang there for a little bit. When you have to blip the throttle, just manually operate the linkage at the carbs. Use the idle screw for rpm adjustment while the bracket is removed.

I sorta fourth it, but I am working on a solution.

Doldrums, may I presume that you are riding a 550 or 650? Those are impossibly tight together anyway, so you HAVE to remove some linkage to gain access to the sync screw. On the larger bikes, you might have to remove the "choke" linkage or move the throttle linkage out of the way, but it is definitely easier on the larger bikes.

Yes, I do, and I will now have to make a judgement call that you don't read so well, as I made NO assumptions.

Go back and re-read post #5 carefully.
