    Extra Earth

    Hello Forum,
Maybe it is a daft question? But could you drill a hole into the frame and then fit a rivnut to make an extra earth on the bike, mainly to tidy the wiring up on my 1977 GS750D or will it make no difference? Or is there another way of doing it?

    Regards

Not so daft a question. The biggest issue is finding a flat spot where you can grind off all the paint so that you can establish "electrical bonding" through faying surfaces.

When applying the BMS595 sealant to the electrical faying surface, do you also cover the electrical bond area. My interpetation of Boeing Spec BAC5117-6 Cat 2 is that you apply the sealant to the entire faying surface of one part. I'm dealing with an aluminum assy and there is a bracket to be...

The best ground would be to a flat surface on the frame. I have used sat mount bolts at the front of the seat.
