    rear hub driven joint assy

    Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the rear hub driven joint suzuki part 64860 45113 and
    64860 45112

    Appart from the numbers
    The big guy up there rides a Suzuki (this I know)
    1981 gs850gx

    1999 RF900
    past bikes. RF900
    TL1000s
    Hayabusa
    gsx 750f x2
    197cc Francis Barnett
    various British nails

    JOINT ASSY, DRIVEN
    Is the original part number 1982 and prior.






    Part# 64680-45113 Desc JOINT ASSY RR H -SU USD Price 194.39 Quantity
    *supersedes 64680-45112


    Is the new number for the newer design that replaced that.
    If order the old number, will not be in stock, probably really cant order it, or if do will get the new one anyway.
    You want the newer number.

      lot more that can say about the "joint assembly" (usally called hub when speaking).

      What is your concern?

        no concern I was just checking as there appears to be a bargain to be had more so for you guys in the USA
        i would have liked to get it but unknown taxes + vat + Royal Mail charging to collect te duty

          Auction no longer available.
          there was one design for 78 and79.
          then another in 80
          then another in 82 that was short lived and replaced
          has been same since then even in modern bikes.

              There was sort of a mishmash of original part numbers for this part. I'm not sure why exactly.


              64681-45100 < Black, only on the 1979 GS850G
              64680-45111 < Black, on many 1980-81 shafties
              64680-45112 < the dreaded soft "gold" spline found mostly on 82-84 shafties.

              All these superceded to 64680-45113 in 1985, which is still in production to this day for the 805cc Boulevards (VL800, VZ800, VS800), formerly known as Suzuki Intruders, as well as assorted other 1984-2020 shafties. It's a fine part as well, and a new one is about $150.

              But if you know what to look for, there are 40 years of old motorcycle wheels on fleaBay and in boneyards to pick from.
              1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.
              2005 KLR685, Aztec Pink - Turd II.3, the ReReReTurdening
              2015 Yamaha FJ-09, Magma Red Power Corrupts...

                If you wanted one of these new in the uk you would have to pay £220, total rip off 😡😡

                  64681-45100 < Black, only on the 1979 GS850G

                  I think this might have been the recalled part. The studs were bolt on pieces which could come loose. Superseded by a one piece spline design with integrated studs. There was someone selling these old units on ebay a few years ago for cheap. They might have been dealer take-offs. I think Rusty Bronco (Dale) bought one. Most likely fine with some fine tuning (welding?) to be sure the studs don't come loose.
