    I think he's got a 650 and these don't have a separate compartment. They just use the sump oil.

    likely, but not much oil comes out of the second plug in any case.

    goto your profile settings and Put that you have a 650 somewhere or mention it at the beginning of your post. And then i won't have to trust my memory.

      Got me thinking about that engine oil leaking into the box on the 850.
      My 79 engine seal failed between the sump and the front bevel box. I was only aware of it when I routinely changed the bevel oil and it came out black, without the slightest trace (or smell) of gear oil in it. I went on for many thousands of miles after that, with it being lubed by the engine oil. When that engine was eventually stripped for the leaks and the 2nd gear jumping fault, the bevel drive was perfect.

        Thanks for that. I change everything every spring and yes it comes out blackish but still a hint of cat pee
        Putting light truck diesel oil in the crankcase is probably helping.
