Thanks guys. Doing even this little bit of strip and shine work gives me a greater respect for you all that make it look so easy. I have a lot to learn.
Got it all back together now. It honestly doesn't look much different from a distance, but I'm hoping the oil leaks are gone. Took a short ride last night to check for leaks and was pretty disappointed to see a few spots weeping oil. I think my home depot torque wrench that measures in-lbs lies to me. This morning I was able to get another eigth to quarter turn on every bolt with minimal effort using a 1/4" ratchet. Going to ride some more today so we'll see if that little bit made a difference. I also realized I forgot to reconnect the breather hose. Last night I just kept thinking, man that degreaser sure stinks. haha
One thing that makes me happy is to see that the leak that I thought was the base gasket is gone! It must have been something higher up that just blew around and down there.Roger
