    Removing Faceplates of Speedo/Tach

Anyone have any insight as to how to get the front clear cover off of the speedo/tach on 80/81 GS450s? The two bolts on the back just seem to detach the components from the yellow housing, I still haven't been able to find a way into the yellow housing and want to be careful not to damage them.

As you can see the dial faceplates have sprung loose and are uh.... Less than effective.

Simplest method is to pry the metal ring away from the plastic very carefully using a couple of small screwdrivers or such. Then carefully crimp it back in place the same way

Agreed. Done this many times myself.

Go very slowly in teensy weensy tiny increments until you get the hang of it. Around and around and around, bending just a little each circuit.
