    Battery LED

Just a quick question...has anyone installed one of those Kurakyn battery guages that shows the status of the battery charging (or not) process? I am thinking of getting one to make sure my charging system is working properly. I installed an Electrex Stator and an OEM regulator/rectifier a little more then a year ago. Would it be a waste of bucks or piece of mind.

The cost from Dennis Kirk is about $35.00+
    tax or thereabouts.

It's your $, so do as you please. But, since you've already gone and upgraded the electrical problem that our bikes are notorious for, I see no reason to do it. You could easily buy a trickle charger for that, not to mention another battery. BTW I've not had to replace the stator or R/R on mine, yet.

Yea, I agree just wondering if the piece of mind would be worth the bucks. I realized that I had a charging problem only after I had to 'jump' the battery a few times so now everytime I turn the bike off I get this weird feeling in my stomach, at least until I hit the starter and it fires up... :? 8O

yes it is good to be informed!
kurakyn puts out two differant ones, one that is chrome and has a led scale and a hidden one that has a single led that can be mounted in the instrument cluster and indicates voltage by color and flashing at the extremes.
it is best to know you have a problem before you are stranded in the middle of no where with no way of starting the bike back up.

I installed a Kurakyn voltage gauge on my bike 2 years ago and I really like it. For me it was worth the 35 bucks, it told me when my regulator blew out and I had over 18 volts going to the battery. Luckily I was only a few blocks away from home and I turned around before any damage was done. the only problem I had was finding a good place to hook it up for a good reading, I first used the headlight circuit, but that seemed to vary to much, especialy when using the turn signals. Now I run it off the AUX fuse on the fuse panel, it never turns off, but it doesnt seem to draw very much current, any time the bike is home its on the trickle charger anyway.
So for me it was a good investment when compared to cooking a battery.

Thanks guys, that makes my decision easier. Now, how is the best way to wire it in, I mean where should I connect the wires?

I HAVE EXTRA LIGHTS ON MINE AND I CAN CONTROL THEM INDEPENDENT OF EACH OTHER
SO I CAN MONITOR THE VOLTAGE AT ALL TIMES
