Silicone Solvent?

Does anyone know what type of chemical will dissolve the silicone sealant on the electrical modules (Igniter) on a late model GSXR? It looks and feels like black RTV. I want to remove the silicone without eating the circuit board itself.

I am pretty sure that there is something that will do this, but I don't have any idea what it might be.

I thought about MEK, but I am afraid it will eat everything.

I know that brake cleaner does and I also know that it will eat everything else, can you just pick away at it with an exacto knife??, if you reseal it besure you use a silicone that is safe for the electronics

Some RTV ( which stands for Room Temperature Vulcanizing) can be dissolved by gasoline, try that. If that does not work Acetone might work. Fingernail Polish remover is pretty good at dissolving some things, it even softens up "crazy glue" cyanoacrylics.

Or, in other words, if your ignitor isnt working, buy it a beer and see if it becomes a little more cooperative. Perhaps some candy and flowers also. :-)
