Valve clearance question
OK, so how critical is it that the clearance is the same for all the valves? All my clearances are within spec, but might be a little different from each other. Also, I've heard that tappy valves are happy valves, so what is better, a little more clearance (thicker feeler) or less clearance (thinner feeler)?Currently bikeless

I ride, therefore I am.... constantly buying new tires.

clearances
between 00.3--00.8, if its noisy check your gap, if it's too tight you'll burn out a valve.
Noisy shims are really not healthy, but if you can put up with the noise, leave em!

Tword the looser end of the adjustment is better, I once spent a great deal of time getting all the valve adjustments as close to the tight end as possible, it took forever to warm it up and get it off the choke, I went back and loosened them up to the middle of the adj range and warm up was a lot quicker. This was a GS850GN
