    Valve clearance question

OK, so how critical is it that the clearance is the same for all the valves? All my clearances are within spec, but might be a little different from each other. Also, I've heard that tappy valves are happy valves, so what is better, a little more clearance (thicker feeler) or less clearance (thinner feeler)?

    clearances

between 00.3--00.8, if its noisy check your gap, if it's too tight you'll burn out a valve.
Noisy shims are really not healthy, but if you can put up with the noise, leave em!

Tword the looser end of the adjustment is better, I once spent a great deal of time getting all the valve adjustments as close to the tight end as possible, it took forever to warm it up and get it off the choke, I went back and loosened them up to the middle of the adj range and warm up was a lot quicker. Definitely looser. A tight clearance can burn an exhaust valve or prevent an intake valve from sealing properly. Remember, valve clearances get TIGHTER over time, not looser, so you want to start on the loose side to allow for some wear between adjustments.
