    Rebuilding/repairing GS1100E signal generator

I'm in the process of repairing a damaged signal generator assembly on a 1980 GS1100E. The signal rotor worked loose on the road (my fault) and broke off a fin. The generator is basically OK, except the magnets under the pickups are broken. The rotor needs replacing.

Naturally, all the parts outfits don't want to talk about a bike this old. I wouldn't bother, but the rest of the engine's recently overhauled. I promised myself I'd get 100K out of my old buddy, and that last 17K is playing hard to get.

Can anyone give me some direction? Used parts, alternate config's, old inventory in Ohio?

    Thanks in advance.

Your termonoligy is incorrect I AM assuming you are talking about the rotor & stator = charging altenator. The early 1100 would have the small crank end ? so that would give you more options.

        GS1100 ignition repair

No. I am referring to the right-hand end of the crankshaft.

        Thanks for trying.
