    Signals not flashing

Hey guys, I have a 83gs1100es and have installed Lockhart Phillips short stalk signal lamps. I now find that they will only flash if I pick the revs up a bit from idle(400 rpm). As soon as I do that everything works fine. Is this normal with aftermarket lamps, the bulbs they use are 23 watt, or do I have a underlining problem. thanks Jeff

I've gone through the wiring a couple of times, they just plug in directly to the existing wiring and if I plug the stock ones back in everything works fine, so I'm guessing everything is good that way. Is there any other signal lights you could recommend in the same size and shape?

I have had problems with the ground wire overheating then melting off right at the socket.

I m having the same problem with my 82 1166 and short stalks. they also burn out bulbs pretty fast and the bulbs are 3.99 ea. Im going to try some r1 or gsxr signals. Tony

Will the stock bulbs fit the new units? If so, try them to see how they work. I have Lockhart Phillips short stalk turn signals at both ends of my bike (dual filaments up front). They use standard bulbs and work fine.

Like I said they are JUNK when you change the bulbs you are changing the wattage They do not draw enough current to activate the flasher. You can change to an electronic type flasher available at any auto parts store It should make it work
