    NGK all the way for me! It's what these bikes came with new, and it works, so why mess with success?

    I get them at Advance Auto or Pep Boys for about $1.49 to $1.79 each.

    I usually change them once or twice a year, which means anywhere between 4,000 to 10,000 miles between changes.
    1983 GS850G, Cosmos Blue.
    2005 KLR685, Aztec Pink - Turd II.3, the ReReReTurdening
    2015 Yamaha FJ-09, Magma Red Power Corrupts...
    Eat more venison.

      I have only used NGK in everything from my first mini-bike topresent day.

        I agree with the NGK comments. They really work the best in my experience.

          When I bought a brand new 81 GS650E back in 81. It came with Nippon Denso. In my opinion, those are the best. NGK are a suitable substitute, but I can tell a difference. I can also tell when they need to be replaced just by the way the bike runs. It will still run good, but not as good as new ones.

            Only NGK in any old air-cooled gs....I've had several air-cooled suzi's and NGK worked best for me. My manual says check the plugs every 4,000 miles and replace at 6,000 miles...I usually replace at a max of 4,000 miles and have never fouled a plug on my current suzi....knock on wood!

                Just a thought

                If your plugs were fine and never had any trouble until after you did the carbs, you may be running too rich (if it happened right away the pilot screws could be off).
                The carbs only affect the plugs in that they mix the gas and air that passes by them. If this happened right after the carb work I would suspect that it will happen again before too long. I have had many problems with carbs on my GSXR. Even after adding a DynoJet kit they still ran incorrectly until about 5 hours of adjustment, then a plug change.
