    Gap measurement for spark plugs

We just purchased a GS1000GL. Some wanted to get rid of it pretty bad because we got it for 400.00 .It was purchased as a suprise, but the bike was to big for hime to handle so he set it up and it was running at the time. It was sitting for 6 months. We are trying to get it to turn over and it just wont. So lets start from the bottom spark plugs.

You say it wont turn over, so starting at the bottom means the charging system, go to the main page and find the link to the stator papers, clean EVERY single connection on the bike, as it only requires a 0.1 volt drop below 12 volts for a GS to not turn over. so remove the battery fully charge it, test the electrics( they are the weak point of these bikes) let us know what results you get and we will move on from there.

Keep plugging away. It'll start and run soon. What year is it? You'll get all the help you need from this site if you are more specific though.

If you can't get it to run, maybe I could come up there someday and have a look at it.
