    '81 GS750L Info. Needed.

    I have 2 questions.

    Question 1.
My bike needs new tires. I was wondering if there was 1 tire type that performed better than others. And in general what your preferences were.

    Question 2.
It's time for an oil change. Anyone have any comments on Quaker State oil?

    -Thanks.

As for tires I have a set of Dunlops on my bike and they are great. K627 rear and a 491 on the front (I think tose are the numbers). They seem to have good tread life, stick pretty well and are in the mid range as far as price. When it comes to oil, I use whatever Wal-Mart has cheap. In my opinion, it's all good as long as you change it often. Make sure you do the filter as well.

I ride, therefore I am.... constantly buying new tires.

I am thinking about going with Cheng Shin rear tires. I can't find a front tire made by them that will fit though. So I may end up going with a Pirelli front tire. Is it safe to go with 2 different tire brands?

As for the oil filter. I have that and will change that when I change my oil. As well as change the fuel and air filter. As well as replace the spark plugs.

Cheng Shin should have tires that fit your front. Either a 90 or 100/19 will work and I have had good experience running Cheng Shin on several bikes including the two I currently own.

I've run a few different rear tire brands with a Pirrelli on the front with no problems.

Thanks everyone for all the advice. I'll see what happens after I get everything done on my bike. I have to go and take the MSF class Friday through Sunday, hopefully I will pass.
