any wiring upgrade needed to run a 80/100w bulb?

im just curious if anyone has played around with brighter headlamp bulbs in their gs'.

    i've got a 80 gs850 that i believe has a stock wattage bulb...55/60.
i was doin some web searches and found some 55/100 and 80/100 bulbs... but they are obviously gona draw more amps and was just curious if anyone has had good or bad stories about doin this with stock wires.

    thanks!

to move up to a illegal (who cares!!) bulb you will need to do the headlight by pass operation, the stock witing and switch will not hold up.

the bypass consist of a dirrect battery wire (with fuse) that goes to a standard automotive relay under front of the gas tank, the existing head light high beam wire goes to the relay to trigger it and the existing low beam wire is caped off.

I've done the same mod on my 850, but used two relays, one for each beam. It makes quite a difference. If your doing a lot of town/traffic riding the battery will have a job keeping up.

        100 Watts

I made the change to the 80/100 Watt bullb 2 years ago and I love it. My connectors are in good shape with no corrosion. I also changed my R/R to a 2000 Honda type ($25 ebay) and it made a big difference in my electrics. I couldn't imagine riding without the 100 watt bulb. Your stator is good for about 240 watts, but that is maximum. Original stator and R/R doesn't make much at idle speeds.
