to flush or not to flush

my gs 650 sat fo about 5 years and i am going through it all cleaned carbs droped oil all that jazz but am wondering if i should flush the brakes or not. if i should what is the best way to do so. i know brake fluid does not break down and the brakes work fine now. just curious for saftey reasons. any thing else i should do please let me know.

I would flush the brakes Brake fluid will absorbe water over time Put a hose over the bleader screw, put end of hose into a container with enough brake fluid to cover the hose, Open bleader screw 1/2 turn, pump the brake lever slowly until the fluid comes out clear, close bleader screw

      flush it.

the best way to tell if you really should do it, is by the colour of the brake fluid. it should be a clear, light-amber colour. if its brown, then change it.

its important to keep it clean, as brake fluid absorbs dirt and moisture like a sponge.

When in doubt - flush it!
