I'm getting ready to do something with a '97 GSXR shock on my 700. The 700 shock is the same as your 1150. I'm going to cut the lower inch or so off the 700 shock and weld it to a block that will mate to the GSXR shock's lower mounting point. You could even devise a ride height adjuster as part of the block. My original shock is toast.
