    Keihin 33 smoothbores question ...

I own a 84 1150ES with the Keihins 33's and was wondering since the stock carbs had a vacuum hose for the petcock, how do hook it to the 33 smoothbores? Or do you not use the vacuum operation and just go manual? :?

Without a proper vacuum port I would say you need to go with manual operation.

You could also turn it to prime & turn it back to the on position for off

That's what I was thinking, just wanted to know if anyone else had the same idea ....I guess the reserve will still be the same too..... ?

I think reserve requires vacuum just like the on position? Other than that, the idea sounds good...

Using it on prime if you run out of gas YOU ARE OUT no reserve

You could run a vacuum hose from one of the intake boots. Connect a tap used for synchronizing the carbs to the #2 or #3 intake boot and run a hose from that to the petcock. Makes sure the connections are tight and the host does not touch anything hot.

Vacuum is vacuum and that should hold the petcock open.
