My "new" ride is stinky and a oil leaking sive

    Maybe you just covered this, but I had a bike that had a horrible oil leak... because the dang needle valve was stuck and filled the crankcase to overflowing (via the intakes and around the pistons). Replaced the needles and seats, and bingo... no more oil leak!

      Hmmm. If that was the case, though, wouldn't my oil site window indicate that it was way over full? I thought early on that I may have a gas leak, but not I'm not too sure. I think the gas I that is in there is from before my carb rebuild. I have since changed the oil, but couldn't there still be some left overs? I am going to change it again this week and install the new valve cover gasket. I'll then put her back together and HOPE that she is healed. Closer examination this morning showed me that the 2 places on the gasket that were compromised could very well be the whole problem or at least the vast majority.
