Help!!!!!!!

I have started to modify a stock air box to accept the rubber boots that match up to the oval shaped intakes on my new carbs--GUESS WHAT -- I cant get the rings to come out of the existing rubber boots. Ihave tried puttinga flat screwdriver under them and getting them started but i think i will end up doing dammage. I need some instructions support- tips or any other advice. I usually like to save the parts so if others need them I have some.

Hey Slowpoke;
Have you tried using a hot air gun (aka..hairdryer) ??
This might help to soften things a bit.

I was just being too carefull ((i got them out))and now i have decided to dump the stealth idea and just put pods on the new carbs--THANKS ALL FOR THE RESPONSES
