    clip ons

ok I have an 85 gs700e. and the stock rise it really tall and every clip on I find doesn't have any rise at all. I don't want the flat clip ons I am looking for something that has about 1 to 2 inches of rise and can be adjuste so they don't sweep back as much. I there anything out there???

Katana ( and I mean real Katana) have about an inch rise, 1150es have about 2 1/2 inch rise.

the original katana clipons are LOW! yes they do have a small rise but they still aim down from that rise,. im as low as my friends 96 RF600 atleast. they are great bars IF you can find a set.

If your open to something besides clip-ons, check out some motorcross bars. I believe mine are YZ bend. 2.5 rise about 3 pullback.
Lots of motocross choices out there.... 70's Yamaha RD bars are similar to the motocross bars, without the center brace.

Datona used to make clip-ons for this bike. They mounted to the top triple using the stock attachment points and will clear the ES bodywork. Otherwise any 37mm clip-on will mount to the tubes themselves. You would probably need to mount under the top triple in this case. Keep in mind that the air interconnect between both fork tubes sits just below the top triple. This would require use of riser bars to keep them from being too low. Helibar makes riser bars that would work. Also look on Ebay for older bars such as the Datona's. I will post a photo of them on my '83 750ED. Good Luck, Ed

How does one go about mounting motorcross bars. Is there an adapter to change over??

gs700es and gs1150es handle bar heights

ok since it looks like bars from the 700es and 1150es are shorter and a much easier swap.

Can anyone help me out with some measurements. Inside and outside of the bars.

              Thanks
