Battery question

I havent had much luck with batteries lately. I got a new one about 3 weeks ago and everything is still good. How often should i have to add water to it or how often should i have to do anything to it to make it last? I thought maybe i had an issue with my charging system, but i read that i wasnt supposed to add more acid to the battery when its low, but to add water. The battery has lasted this long and still has 12.2v after i get done riding.

You only add water when the electrolyte level is below the full line. Never allow the top of the plates to become exposed. You should not have to add water very often, but the frequency has a lot of factors. You never add acid, only water. As the water evaporates, the concentration increases, so just add water.
