    there is no ground wire, it grounds through the metal case, you must have continuity between the metal case and the neg. battery terminal, then when you energize the wire from the starter button, it should close the solenoid/relay

      YAHOOOO!! I finally got it! The relay wasnt grounded right, so i ran a wire from where the relay screws to the metal panel to the neg battery terminal and taadddaaaaa! Thanks for all the help and suggestions guys! Now if i could only get it to run.........

        I think I told you that about three pages ago. :roll:

        Remove the starter cover and see if there is 12 volts on the starter connection or not when you hit the starter button. If nothing is there remove the wire from the starter and check again, still nothing go back to the solenoid and see if it is present on the starter wire side there. Still nothing check the ground connections for the starter solenoid, make sure it clicks when you hit the button.


        Adding an auxillery ground wire is good insurance against solenoid float which can damage the regulator and burn the contacts of the solenoid.

          Yeah you did but i thought for sure it was a good ground. Oh well, im happy now, would be even happier if the bike ran. Its not mine, im just working on it for a friend, but i would like to see it running! Thanks again everyone for the help!!
