gs1100 top end studs + thread goop
I know on the old kz's you are supposed to use sealer on some of the studs when you put them into the cases. What about on my gs1100. I looked in the book, but don't see anything on it. I'm getting some seeping from the front of the block and cases. I',m wondering if it's lack of sealer on the threads that is partly to blame.Tags: None

Not sure what you mean by 'sealer'. A little threadlock on the studs is a good idea, but I don't think it will make any difference to a leak.

No sealers on the GS.
Try retorqueing your head, if you're lucky it will help.
While you're in there, fix the center nuts in the head, the most probable cause.
Check my site: modifications/oily stuff.
If that doesn't help you probably need to take the head off to replace the o-rings on the studs.

I've had the head off a couple times and have been re-using the same base gasket. I got a new cometic base gasket yesterday and took it apart. I'll put it back together today. I've never had o-rings on the studs. Are you talking between the head and block or block and cases?
Thanks,
