If you look at the bottom picture the inlet manifold's are at the front of the carb's, you can see the grove that the O ring sit's in,it stop's air leak's between the carby and motor, if you get leak's there you can never get your mix right.

strange.. there aren't any screws on those rubber inlets. they're smooth all the way around.. i'm thinking.. there should be a screw on the carb itself. where the tubes plug into. I'll check them out.

It could be those rubber manifold's are not stock,from memory all suzuki , kawasaki ,honda, etc, from that period had the vacumn take off in exactly the same place!
My bet is there off a single cylinder motor, because you don't balance one carb.
2 choices, buy new ones, or drill and tap what you have to fit whatever adapters you have.
Don't miss the metal when you drill!
