Petcock does not turn off?
I have a GS450E. The petcock is a bit stiff, but operates. One thing that I did notice that seems odd is that there is no 'off' position. There is 'on', 'res', and that's it. Am I missing something? :?Tags: None

There is also a "pri," right? The "off" is provided by a diaphragm-operated valve that is opened from manifold vacuum when the engine is running. Happily, :x it usually leaks!
BTW "prime" is for starting after long sitting, or after running out of gas - it bypasses the diaphragm valve.

Well, when I get home I'll be sure to check what's printed on the petcock again. My memory might be failing me, it could say "PRI" and not "RES"! If that's the case, then I'll be sure to leave it at "ON"...I think it's been there, anyways!
There is an additional hose that feeds from the right carb back to the petcock that appears to be in good shape. If that's a vacuum line, I just have to hope it's doing its job! I've seen other threads about dribbling petcocks, sounds like a pain!
