oh, man. That 80 GS1000G. All stock, all there. Engine fairley clean. Tank and gauges nice and clean not at all sun faded like most you will find, exhaust not rusty like most you will find. Seat cover gone but seat pad foam could be okay yet maybe, Travelcade seat cover (Ive done two) about 50-60 bucks like said above by others. Tail piece and front fender a bit scraped up. Finding the air cleaner box should not be too hard to find (others will tell you if same as 850 or 1100). May want to get new inlet boots - lots easier to work with.

Do a search on ebay for
    suzuki (gs850, gs850G, gs1000, gs1000g)
you will find over a hundred parts.

Not much question about it, $1000 for both, good deal.
Perrysburg, OH, thats about 4 hour drive from here .. .. .. hum

Wow, thanks for all of the replies. I'll decide in a day or so. I would love to have them, space is an issue and spousal support another, not necessarily in that order. If I don't get them, is there anyone here interested the the sellers e-mail?

        Howdy!

You didn't say what carburettor problems this bike has. If it has idle and running problems but otherwise start and run, this is probably caused by the lack of air filter box. This box is required to ensure the required underpressure to the carburettors for them to function properly. I too have a GS1000G(T) and I have noticed reduced power and response with air seapage into filter box and also with faulty exhaust system, both required for bike to run properly. You may also have to clean out the carburettors.

I do not believe previous carburettor setups are adviseable for this bike, I've been given word against it by the owner of the shop I use, who specializes in the GS series bike. The GS1000E and the likes have a regular piston type carburettor while the G has a vacuum piston type, according to tests I've read on the G "they're as good as they're gonna get".

        Your's, (-:b

Thanks Orkanen. The picts don't show it too well, but the stock airbox is there. The bike will run, just rough. The seller has had the carbs off and they were badly gummed. He just swashed around carb cleaner and didn't tear them down. A good carb cleaning should get it running.

          Appreciate the feedback.

Howdy. Based on the positive responses from everyone, we've (my wife and I) decided to make the deal and investment.

Appreciate your input. I'm sure I'll be in here for futher advise!

            Pick them up Friday.
