I don't think it's too bad actually.

I think I'll be able to get away with cleaning all the accumulated dust off it and giving it a bit of a polish. I'm sure there's some polish around that's suitable for acrylic type stuff.

Interesting about the ride posi, as I find the 450 isn't too bad at all, but my brother's Kwaka GPX750 made me feel like I was going to get leg cramps after about 2 minutes. Way too cramped and small.

I'm looking at getting lower bars on the 450 and possibly moving the footpegs back a bit, and it doesn't look like it's going to make it any more cramped so far. In fact, I just turned my current bars upside down for a test fit and it was quite comfortable.

Fitted footpeg's from a wrecker's on my bike,droped them about 90mm,and back about 70mm,just made that bit of difference that made it feel just right for me.The gear change because it had a rear set linkage I could adjust ,the brake pedal I cut and welded.
Do a search on this site, the problem with removing scratch's from screen's was well covered within the last month or so.
If you have engine prob's in the future I believe the 500 go'es straight in ,same crankcase I think.
And there seem's to be a lot around in OZ.

How easy did you find moving the footpegs? Did you make up brackets or anything?

I know I can get some Raask rearsets, but I think it's about $480! I'm planning on a MOTAD 2 to 1 exhaust which should be around $650 apparently.

I've seen some posts around re: scratches etc. so I'll check them out a bit more thoroughly once I get to that point.

At the moment, the only thing with my engine/gearbox will be sorting out why it drops out of fifith and sixth, other than that it runs well. Good to hear the 500 goes in well tho

Gary that is a GSX450EX, the fairing is an aftermarket replica of the stock fairing. BGMart is our resident 450 expert.

I looked at those rearset's too but they wern't right for me.
Just stared long and hard at the footpeg's & control's and worked out what I could get away with,went down to the wrecker's and went through the box of footpeg's.
I came away with the pillion peg's for a GPZ250( well that's what I was told, looked quite large for pillion peg's)
Did the job, and as I said I just had to cut and weld the brake pedal.
Now it's just right for me.
Just got to use a bit of imagination.

Paul, the rear sets may not be right for me either yet, I've yet to go thru the measurements they gave me to see if they'll go ok. The price isn't all that right either.

When I get some time, I have to go to a wrecker and look at footpegs and handle bars. There's no wreckers close to me unfortunately, so I have to make a bit of a trip to go to one.

The hardest thing is I can't just ride my bike there to compare either, but I'm sure I can work around that somehow.

The one benefit of the rearsets is that they apparently come with the appropriate gear change and brake levers, so no welding required, which is probably a good thing for me!

Expert?!?! When did that happen LOL.

That fairing is pretty close to the S my wife has, but not exact. It has a real light tint, no where near that dark. The sides are also, well, more there. It has cut-outs for the signals rather than the wide open sides.

BTW the 450's made it safely to NY yesterday. Got to ride them up the ramp into a 24' Uhaul. Strapped them to the walls and off we went. Probably safer there in a northern Albany suburb driveway than off the street here....
